Liverpool's Stefan Bajčetić announces his season is over | OneFootball

Liverpool midfielder Stefan Bajčetić has been ruled out for the rest of this season.

Bajčetić became a regular fixture at the heart of the Anfield club’s engine room this season but missed Wednesday’s Champions League last-16 exit to Real Madrid through injury.

But the teenager confirmed in a post on Instagram that his breakthrough campaign with the Reds has been curtailed.

“Unfortunately I’ve picked up an injury that will keep me out until the end of the season,” wrote Bajčetić.

“It’s very sad to say goodbye to this amazing season for me but I understand this is part of football and will only make me stronger physically and mentally.

“I would also like to say thank you to you reds for all the support through the season and I assure you I will do my best to be back stronger than ever.”

Jürgen Klopp’s side face a frantic finish to qualify for next season’s Champions League as they sit six points behind fourth-placed Tottenham heading into the international break.
