However, Reds manager Jurgen Klopp wants Milner to remain at the Anfield club for one more season.

Liverpool plan to make major squad changes in the middle of the park during the summer.

The likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita and Juventus loanee Arthur Melo are all expected to move on at the end of the season.

However, Klopp values the leadership, experience and quality of the versatile Milner.

The Englishman joined Liverpool from Manchester City as a free agent in 2015.

He extended his contract by one year in 2022 on reduced wages.

Klopp publicly admitted in January he would love Milner to sign a new deal.

However, senior figures at Liverpool accept he will be free to sign for another club if no new deal is agreed upon.

Despite his age, plenty of Premier League clubs would jump at the chance to sign Milner for free.

He has featured in 32 games across all competitions this term.

Milner has played at right-back and in central midfield, with two assists to his name.

The former Aston Villa man has played over 600 Premier League games, with 219 of them in Liverpool colours.

Milner has continually kept himself in peak physical condition, and he deserves another season with the Merseyside club.
