Reds dealt another defensive blow ahead of showdown at Anfield
Liverpool’s first game of 2025 will see them meet arch rivals Manchester United.
Arne Slot’s side are sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League table as things stand, leading Arsenal by six points while also boasting a game in hand.
Still, by the time the Reds kick-off at Anfield on Sunday, the Gunners could be only three points behind.
Slot, however, will feel confident about getting a result on Sunday.
The Red Devils are in absolute crisis right now and were fortunate not to have lost by more than the eventual 2-0 scoreline in Monday’s clash with Newcastle.
Liverpool smashed West Ham 5-0 on Sunday to send another title statement but the win may have come at a relative cost.
Ibrahima Konate and Conor Bradley have both returned to training in a major boost for Liverpool, albeit it would be a surprise to see them start against United.
