Liverpool winger has a ‘great desire’ to play for Barcelona – report | OneFootball

FC Barcelona are ready to go all-in on a new top-class attacker in the summer transfer window.

Deco revealed in a recent interview that the idea is to sign a new left-winger, although the Blaugrana would ideally prefer a versatile forward who can operate on the left or through the middle as well.

It has given way to links to Liverpool speedster Luis Diaz, AC Milan star Rafael Leao, and Newcastle United hitman Alexander Isak as the primary targets for the Catalan giants.

Diaz wants to play for Barcelona

Amidst the speculation, SPORT has come forth with a new report, claiming that Luis Diaz has a ‘great desire’ to play for Barcelona.

The report further states that even though Barça seem to prefer a move for Alexander Isak, signing him could be more complicated than securing the services of Diaz from Liverpool in the summer transfer window.

After all, the Colombian international’s contract expires sooner than the Newcastle United striker and he seems to be eager to play for Barça.

A chain reaction possible?

As reported earlier, Barcelona face competition from Liverpool as well as Arsenal and Chelsea in the race for Isak.

From a Barcelona perspective, this could work in their favour. If Liverpool were to sign Isak in the summer, it might open the door for Diaz to leave Anfield, making his transfer to Barça a more viable option.

An alternate report from Mundo Deportivo also suggests that Diaz might be the most favoured option for Barça as far as strengthening the left wing is concerned in the summer. However, his transfer fee could be a challenge as Liverpool will not sell him on the cheap.
