Mark Brus, in an exclusive report for CaughtOffside, has reported that Liverpool are interested in signing Ederson from Atalanta in the upcoming summer transfer window. However, they will face competition from Manchester United as well for his signature. They have already inquired about the possibility of signing the midfielder in the upcoming summer.
The 25-year-old has performed well in the Serie A and has all the attributes to flourish in the Premier League. Atalanta have a fixed price tag of €60 million for his services. He is a standout talent known for his relentless energy and versatility. Operating typically as a central midfielder, he possesses physicality with technical skill.
His aggressive pressing and tackling disrupt opponents, while his compact, bulldog-like frame makes him tough to bypass. Ederson excels in aerial duels and boasts a knack for scoring headers, adding an attacking edge.
The midfielder’s ball-carrying ability and composure in possession aid transitions, though his passing can lean toward the safe side. A tireless box-to-box presence, he covers vast ground, making him a vital cog in Atalanta’s high-intensity setup. Therefore, he will definitely be a good signing for Liverpool.

He has scored three goals and provided two assists in the 27 matches that he has been part of in the Serie A so far this season. The Reds need to sign quality reinforcements in the midfield given that they have been heavily dependent on Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch in the ongoing season.
Mac Allister has appeared in 27 matches this season in the Premier League, playing a total of 2075 minutes. On the other hand, Gravenberch has appeared in 28 matches this season in the Premier League, playing a total of 2397 minutes. These stats clearly state that Arne Slot needs a quality midfielder who can rotate with them and compete with them as well.
Given the team has been the top-performing team in both the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League, they need players who can maintain the quality. Ederson definitely fits that quality, and the Reds do have the money to match his price tag. It remains to be seen if the Merseyside club do go for him.
