Liverpool welcome Real Madrid to Anfield on Tuesday evening in what is set to be a tantalising clash between two of Europe's biggest clubs.
Both European royalty in their own right, the two footballing institutions have swept a mega 20 European Cups and Champions League trophies between them.
Most recently, they met in the 2022 final in Paris. Madrid ran out 1–0 winners on the day, so Jurgen Klopp's team will be seeking revenge in this round of 16 tie.
The Spanish team do have the better track record historically, winning five of their last six matches against the Reds. But with the first leg taking place at Anfield, they would be foolish to feel confident before kick off.

Kopites have been busy leading up to the encounter, with footage emerging last night of fireworks being set off outside Madrid's hotel.
However, those Liverpool fans who haven't been seeking a cheeky advantage for their team, have been reminiscing about a famous Anfield night that came against the illustrious team in white.
It was 2009 and Rafael Bentiez's Liverpool side had been drawn against the mighty Madrid in the round of 16.
The English team won the first leg, played at the Santiago Bernabeu, 1-0.
But then followed up that victory with a sumptuous display on their home patch.
A 4-0 thumping left a dumbstruck Madrid packing and ensured Liverpool progressed to the quarter-final stage in style.
The architect of the masterful display? Who else but Steven Gerrard. Liverpool's 'Captain Fantastic' scored twice in the game and his highlights are simply a joy to behold.
Vintage Gerrard. Liverpool fans will be hoping for a hero tonight with the Reds' season very much hanging in the balance right now.
