Liverpool will entertain Rangers at Anfield this Tuesday night as they try to secure maximum points at home in the UEFA Champions League. The Reds were held to a 3-3 draw by Brighton and Hove Albion last weekend. In contrast, the Glaswegian outfit managed to earn a dominant 4-0 win over Hearts recently which will give them some confidence ahead of this European clash at Merseyside.
Jurgen Klopp will probably opt for a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to ask his men to control the flow of the game and create enough chances to win this game.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst will set his side up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and could instruct his players to keep a solid shape at the back and try to catch the Reds off-guard on the counter.
Liverpool
Klopp has still got a whole host of injuries to cope with as the likes of Curtis Jones, Calvin Ramsay, Ibrahima Konate, Andrew Robertson, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will all miss this game.
Liverpool Predicted XI
Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Elliott, Henderson, Thiago; Salah, Jota, Diaz
Liverpool
Rangers
James Sands is suspended for this game. Furthermore, Rangers will have to do without John Souttar, Tom Lawrence, Filip Helander, Jon McLaughlin, Nnamadi Ofoborth, Ianis Hagi and Kemar Roofe as they will all miss this game because of injuries.
Rangers Predicted XI
McGregor; Tavernier, Goldson, Davies, Barisic; Lundstram, Davis, Jack; Tillman, Morelos, Kent
Liverpool
Virgil Van Dijk and Joel Matip need to be at their best if they want to keep a clean sheet in midweek. At the other end, Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah will be responsible for stretching the pitch out on the flanks and creating some decent chances in the final third.
Rangers
The defensive performance of Conor Goldson and Ben Davies could go a long way in determining the fate of this Champions League clash.
Rangers will look to use the pace of Ryan Kent, who will be eager to score against his old club, on the counter.
