Liverpool welcome Crystal Palace to Anfield for the first Monday night match of the new Premier League season.

The Reds began the campaign with a 2-2 draw away to Fulham, dropping points against a newly promoted side for the first time since a 3-3 thriller away to Brentford in September 2021.

Palace put Arsenal under pressure for large swathes of their season opener last Friday in a match that was ultimately bookended by two goals for the Gunners.

Here's everything you need to know about the meeting between two sides looking for their first win of the campaign.

Liverpool team news vs Crystal Palace

Thiago Alcantara limped out of Liverpool's opener against Fulham and could be sidelined for as long as six weeks. Fellow midfielder Curtis Jones is also set to miss multiple weeks with a calf injury while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is recovering from a serious hamstring problem.

Naby Keita could be available this weekend after sitting out the trip to west London with a non-COVID illness but Diogo Jota isn't expected to be ready quite yet. The defensive duo of Ibrahima Konate and Kostas Tsimikas are minor doubts as well. Joel Matip is another doubt but will be monitored.

Back-up goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher is thought to be another two weeks away from returning to the bench.

Crystal Palace team news

Goalkeeper Jack Butland is set to be sidelined with a metacarpal fracture until September. James McArthur may be available by the end of August but, much like James Tomkins, has been ruled out of Monday's match with a muscular injury.

Michael Olise only returned to team training the day before Palace's Premier League opener with Arsenal. Patrick Vieira is keen to give the exciting winger plenty of time to achieve full match fitness after missing the entirety of preseason with a foot injury.

Nathan Ferguson's injury plight rages on as the fullback - who has played eight minutes of Premier League football in the last two years - is thought to have sustained an entirely new ailment which will hamper him for the next eight weeks.

Crystal Palace predicted lineup vs Liverpool

Palace certainly pack a punch and boast the robust personnel to unsettle Liverpool with concentrated pressing in midfield as Fulham did (though the departed Conor Gallagher would help that tactic).

However, the Reds rarely slip into a slump under Jurgen Klopp, last dropping points in consecutive Premier League matches at the turn of the year. Klopp vowed to find out what went wrong last weekend and has rarely failed to do so during his spell on Merseyside.
