Paris Saint-Germain were interested in Dean Huijsen last summer as they looked to strengthen their back line, but the Spanish center-back ended up joining AFC Bournemouth instead. If PSG circle back, they’ll have plenty of company.
Even after signing Willian Pacho, PSG are likely to pursue another center-back this summer. With the probable permanent departure of Milan Skriniar, the Parisians could add another young defender.
According to a recent CaughtOffside report, several top clubs — including Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Barcelona and PSG — have been keeping a close eye on the 20-year-old.
Huijsen is quickly turning heads in the Premier League and already ranks among Europe’s brightest young defenders. If PSG go in again, they’ll face stiff competition — and a hefty fee.
TEAMtalk previously reported that Liverpool are among the most serious contenders, viewing Huijsen as a possible long-term successor to Virgil van Dijk.

GIVE ME SPORT reported Tuesday that Bournemouth expect Huijsen’s £50 million release clause to be triggered this summer, and if he stays in the Premier League, Liverpool are seen as the most likely destination.
Instead of targeting a like-for-like replacement, Arne Slot is reportedly open to a tactical shift. Liverpool may move away from relying on a full-back stepping into midfield to dictate play — as Trent Alexander-Arnold often did — and instead lean more on a central defender’s distribution to control the tempo.
The club views Huijsen as a ball-playing center-back who can quickly move the ball into midfield and also deliver incisive passes to the flanks with strong decision-making.
