Goalkeeping duties will be split between The Holy Goalie Artur Boruc. The Polish goalkeeper retired last summer, with Celtic playing in his testimonial in Warsaw. He will be joined by Newcastle and Man City legend Shay Given. The Irishman came through at Barrowfield but never signed a deal.

In defence, Celtic B team co-manager Darren O’Dea will play. Glenn Loovens, Ramon Vega and Lee Naylor will also make an appearance. A couple of household Celtic favourites Mikael Lustig and Emilio Izaguirre will also be back playing for Celtic.

Celtic will be captained by Stiliyan Petrov. Joining the Bulgarian star in midfield, Celtic have a few prominent names – Joe Ledley, Massimo Donati, Ross Wallace, Simon Donnelly, Niall McGinn and Marc Crosas. Player-turned-podcaster-turned-coach Si Ferry will play in the Hoops again, as will ex-West Ham winger Trevor Sinclair.

In attack, Irish legend Robbie Keane will play a half each between the Green and White and the red of Liverpool. Dutch centre forward Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink will pull on the Hoops again. Big Jan was a favourite for Gordon Strachan. The attack is completed by Norwegian striker Harald Brattbakk, who scored that goal against St Johnstone in May 1998 to secure the League Title and stop Rangers winning 10IAR.

Kick Off Time

The game will kick off at 3pm (Celtic Park Time).

Where to Watch

4000 Celtic fans will make the trip down to Merseyside with many more expected in the home end at Anfield. However, for supporters that are not able to attend, Liverpool will stream the match on their Facebook channel and Youtube Channel.
