Liverpool might get involved in the conversation to sign West Ham star Declan Rice this summer, says transfer insider Dean Jones.
Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City have all been linked with the 23-year-old recently, and Jones thinks Liverpool have to join them in the race for his signature.
According to The Telegraph, West Ham are facing a battle to hang on to Rice, with the Englishman a target for Chelsea, United and City.
Rice continues to impress at the London Stadium and was even hailed as “the best player in the Premier League” by former England manager Glenn Hoddle earlier this season.
Ultimately, interest from Chelsea and the Manchester clubs comes as no surprise, but getting him out of West Ham will not be easy.
As per The Independent, West Ham co-owner David Sullivan is thought to value Rice at around £100m, while manager David Moyes has claimed that his vice-captain is worth even more than that.
Without a doubt, Rice is going to cost a lot of money. Nevertheless, Jones thinks Liverpool, Chelsea, United and City could all be in the conversation to sign him this summer.
The football journalist told GIVEMESPORT: “Liverpool might get involved in that conversation if he’s actually on the market because you can’t let those three [Chelsea, United and City] be in a conversation that you’re not in if you’re looking to be part of that dominant force over the next five years.”
You only have to look at some of Rice’s performances this season to know that he would be a great addition to any side.
Although West Ham lost, the England international put in a strong performance in a recent outing against United.

In the Hammers’ 1-0 defeat at Old Trafford, Rice made four interceptions, which was the most in the game, and won three tackles. Other than Vladimir Coufal (also three), no other player in David Moyes’ squad managed more (via WhoScored).
Still, you cannot help but feel it would not be the end of the world if Liverpool did not end up signing Rice. In Fabinho, they already have a very capable defensive midfielder to say the least.
The Brazilian has played 25 times in all competitions this season, featuring in all of Liverpool’s six Champions League group stage fixtures, so the Reds seem like they will be able to cope without the arrival of Rice or another player of his profile.
