Liverpool have seen a potential double-deal collapse. The Reds will have to try something new.
Tyler Morton will sign for Lyon this week. The deal was essentially agreed upon last week, with Morton having given the green light to a contract and Liverpool finding common ground over a fee.
The midfielder only has the one year left on his contract, making a sale inevitable. All in all, the potential €15m deal is a solid one for someone who didn't feature all that much last season.

Still, Morton likely could have gone for a lot more a year ago. Liverpool kept him around because the Martin Zubimendi deal collapsed, only to not really find room for him.
Lyon have swooped in to grab the player at a cut-price fee and good for them. They're getting a really solid midfielder and someone who should perform well in Ligue 1.
It's an interesting one, though. In completing this transfer, a potential double-deal collapses.
Dominic King claims Morton also had a chance to join West Ham United this summer. That one hasn't materialised - and it also affects Harvey Elliott.
Apparently, the Hammers 'indicated they would do a double deal for Morton and Harvey Elliott'. The latter is valued at around £40m by Liverpool, so it was potentially a sizeable one.
Instead, it remains to be seen if West Ham are still interested in moving for just Elliott. We presume they had some sort of idea to get each player for a little under their valuation by guaranteeing moves for both.
