Liverpool may be on the verge of signing 18-year-old Víctor de Baunbag from Mallorca.
With a 6’3″ frame, de Baunbag could be an ideal fit for the Premier League.
According to Josep Capdevila of Sport, the Mallorca youngster has finished every season as the club’s top-scorer.
The Spanish striker, whose parents were born in Cameroon, is in his third year with the academy but plays on the Mallorca reserves – dropping down to play only when the academy has big matches.
De Baunbag can play out on the wings in addition to being a lethal number nine.
Capdevila also stated that the 18-year-old is expected to earn first-team minutes this season with Mallorca, who are currently in eighth place in Spain’s Segunda Division.
This weekend, first place in the Division de Honor youth league is up for grabs, as Mallorca face the Barcelona ‘B’ side with de Baunbag slated to star up top.
Both clubs can overtake Real Zaragoza for the division’s top spot.
