In a recent report, Aksam mentioned that Liverpool are set to rival Arsenal for Fenerbahce sensation Arda Guler. It has been revealed that the Reds would have to pay £25m to acquire the services of the Turkish prospect this summer.

Guler’s Impressive Rise In Turkish Football

Guler has come through the youth ranks of Fenerbahce and has done well to break out as a first-team starter at the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium last season. The 17-year-old has already made 16 senior appearances for the Turkish outfit, finding the back of the net on three occasions and picking up five assists on all fronts.

The talented attacker often found himself on Fenerbahce’s bench but performed well to average 0.8 shots, 0.8 key passes and 0.9 dribbles per game in the Turkish Super Lig. He was even accurate when distributing the ball in the opponent’s half, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 90.8% in league football (stats via whoscored).

Is Guler A Prospect For The Future?

Guler can make some promising runs with the ball towards the opponent’s penalty area and has got the eye to play a decisive pass in the attacking end of the field. He can even score a handful of goals but is still quite raw and would need time before he is ready to play in the Premier League.

The Ankara-born sensation primarily operates as an attacking midfielder but can also serve as a box-to-box midfielder or as a left-sided wide player if needed. He has what it takes to be a good fit for Liverpool‘s style of play in England.

There is no denying that Guler has the potential to become one of the best players in his position someday. Hence, the Reds‘ boss Jurgen Klopp should focus on recruiting him this off-season so that he can be nurtured into a future starter at Anfield.

At 17, Guler has already established himself as one of the best youngers in Turkish football. Therefore, there is no doubt that he is a player to watch out for in the future which makes him a great, long-term signing for the Reds to pursue during this summer transfer window.
