Alisson Becker will go down as one of the most transformative signings in Liverpool history, joining for £66.8 million from Roma back in 2018.
With the Brazilian between the posts, the Reds have gone on to claim almost every major honour in the game, including the Champions League, the Premier League, the Club World Cup, the FA Cup and more.
The Brazil No.1 was named as the world’s best goalkeeper back in 2019 and continues to be listed among the preeminent performers in that position.
However, there have been some fitness questions levied against the 31-year-old in recent times and he is currently sidelined with a hamstring issue.
It’s not expected that Alisson will play again until after November’s international fixtures with Caoimhin Kelleher set to deputise yet again.
Liverpool have made plans to alter the makeup of their goalkeeping department with Giorgi Mamardashvili set to compete for the No.1 spot when he arrives following a loan spell at Valencia in the summer of 2025.
It could well be the case that Alisson moves on to pastures new with clubs in the Saudi Pro League reckoned to be keen to add him to their rosters.
Kelleher, meanwhile, is likely to depart and seek first-team football elsewhere - much merited after a long stint as Alisson’s understudy.
And with potential spaces opening up in Liverpool’s goalkeeping structure, the Reds have now been tipped to repeat their Alisson trick once again.
Mile Svilar has been one of the few bright spots in a poor season thus far for Roma and his form has put him into the shop window for many of Europe’s top clubs.
ASRomaLive is reporting that Manchester City, Newcastle and Liverpool are all interested in signing the Serbia international, with Roma set to cash in on one of their prized assets.
The Italian outlet claims Liverpool as well as their Premier League rivals have contacted Roma and sought out more information on the shot-stopper's willingness for a move to England.
Svilar, 25, is under contract in the Italian capital until 2027 but the club are now being reported to be keen to extend his deal and increase his salary.
It is thought Roma would like to bring in around €35m to €40m (£29m-£33m) for the former Benfica player, having signed him on a free back in 2022.
That is a similar sum to what Liverpool paid to Valencia for Mamardashvili, who is widely expected to become first choice next season in the event that Alisson departs.
However with Kelleher’s future also uncertain it’s possible that the Reds acquire another premium keeper to replace the Irishman.
