Scorers: Diop 77′; Díaz 11′

After a nervy opening few minutes, Fulham had the first real chance of the game, Joao Palhinha sidefooting over from 12 yards after a corner found him in an acre of space.

The opening invigorated the Cottagers, who then forced Caoimhin Kelleher into a sharp save from a dangerous Antonee Robinson cross.

Fulham were made to pay for their missed chance in the 11th minute. Luis Díaz did well to get space on the right-hand side of the box before striking low past the hand of Bernd Leno. There was a slight deflection but the keeper really should have saved it.

The goal flattened the hosts with Liverpool knocking the ball out in the minutes after their goal. A second would surely end the contest.

Kelleher again made a top save just after the half hour, this time denying Raúl Jiménez from 20 yards.

The second half started with Fulham looking to get back into the game and the tie, and nearly scored when Andreas Pereira cracked the post from a narrow angle after Kelleher was beaten to a high ball.

Liverpool countered instantly, but former Cottager Harvey Elliot shot straight at Leno when played in.

Just past the hour, Darwin Núñez came inches from a stunning second for Liverpool. The Uruguayan picked up the ball on the edge of the box, swivelled and hit a fierce strike that just went wide of the post.

Fulham found an equaliser on the night and hope in the tie in the 77th minute. Harry Wilson did some great work down the right hand side before smashing a low cross across the box which Issa Diop finished brilliantly.

Wilson then made Kelleher work from 25 yards out with a drive as the hosts turned up the pressure.

Liverpool soaked up the pressure in the final minutes to seal their passage to a final against Chelsea, in what is a repeat of the final in both 2005 and 2021.
