Jurgen Klopp is now believed to be preparing for life without a number of his key attacking players at Liverpool, with Divock Origi’s contract set to expire this summer and Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino all set to see their deals end at the climax of next season.

The report also claims “Real Sociedad would have promised to listen to offers in the hypothetical case that important proposals arrived from big clubs in Europe” – and Liverpool are among the clubs that the Spanish team will listen to – and according to Mundo Deportivo, the Reds have submitted an offer worth £58.7m.

Isak, who has been dubbed the “new Zlatan Ibrahimovic” by Chinedu Obasi, has scored 41 goals in 121 appearances for the Spanish club since joining from Borussia Dortmund for a bargain £13.5m, and at 22-years-old, he still has plenty of room to grow and develop into one of Europe’s top strikers.

Standing at 6 foot 4, he would be a huge aerial threat for Liverpool, who have excellent crossers of the ball in full-backs Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold – who complete a combined four crosses per game on average.

Despite his size, Isak is also an excellent dribbler of the ball – evident by the fact he ranks in the top 7% in Europe’s top five leagues and continental competitions among strikers in dribbles attempted per 90 (3.78) and dribbles completed per 90 (1.74).

Though, having scored just 11 goals for club and country so far this season – Liverpool will likely try and negotiate a lower fee than his extortionate release clause, but if they do land the Swede, they will have a gem on their hands for the future seasons to come.
