Liverpool striker Diogo Jota scores first goal of the season

Liverpool striker Diogo Jota is off the mark for the season.

Jota was on the score sheet for Portugal as they claimed a comprehensive 4-0 win over the Czech Republic. Goals from Manchester United's Diogo Dalot (2) and Bruno Fernandes supported Jota's late header, which sealed a routine victory in the Nations League.

Jota was not included in the starting line-up for the match in Prague, having only recently recovered from an injury that had ruled him out for the early weeks of the campaign. The 25-year-old was introduced soon after the hour mark, though, and scored with less than 10 minutes left to play.

It was Jota's first goal of the season, having yet to find the back of the net for Liverpool this term.
