Liverpool striker Diogo Jota admits there's been frustration this season over his injury problems.

Jota has so far scored 12 goals for the Reds, and he also assisted one for Mohamed Salah in the Champions League against RB Leipzig. Yet he could have contributed far more were it not for the 18-match injury lay off he had to endure after hurting his knee in a Champions League dead rubber with Midtjylland.

He told Four Four Two: “I was out for almost three months – it was the longest I've been injured in my professional career, and possibly at the worst time because things were going well for me.

“I just wanted to keep doing what I was doing, but I couldn't help the team. Then the results we were getting weren't the best, which only increased my frustration. When I came back, I focused on what I could do to improve the situation."
