Liverpool are aiming to rebound from a difficult week as they face Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League at 2pm today.
The Reds endured a disappointing few days, first suffering a shock defeat to Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup, followed by a chaotic draw against Everton in the Merseyside derby. Although Arne Slot has been charged by the FA following his post-match dismissal at Goodison Park, no hearing has taken place, meaning he will still be on the touchline. Curtis Jones, however, remains suspended. With a challenging run of fixtures ahead, including clashes with Aston Villa, Manchester City, and Newcastle United, a victory against Wolves is crucial for Liverpool’s Premier League title hopes.

GK: Alisson – The Brazilian shot-stopper, who had little chance to prevent Everton’s goals, will be looking for a quieter afternoon. With Wolves missing forwards Jorgen Strand Larsen and Hwang Hee-chan, Alisson could have a less demanding outing.
RB: Trent Alexander-Arnold – Returning from a minor injury, he made an impact off the bench against Everton. He will be tasked with containing the attacking threat of Rayan Ait-Nouri.
CB: Ibrahima Konate – In fine form recently, Konate aims to shut out a depleted Wolves attack. He scored in the reverse fixture and will hope for another solid performance.
CB: Virgil van Dijk – The Liverpool captain struggled at Goodison Park but remains pivotal. Wolves, despite their relegation concerns, are capable of causing problems, and Van Dijk will need to be at his best.
LB: Kostas Tsimikas – With Andy Robertson likely rested ahead of the Aston Villa clash, Tsimikas could feature to provide fresh energy on the left flank.
DM: Ryan Gravenberch – Coming off a subdued performance against Everton, Gravenberch faces another stern test against the creativity of Matheus Cunha.
DM: Alexis Mac Allister – The Argentine was superb against Everton, scoring a fine goal. His midfield battle with Joao Gomes and Andre, both tough-tackling Brazilians, will be key.
RW: Mohamed Salah – Salah has been in sensational form, netting six times in his last five outings. With 22 Premier League goals this season, few would bet against him adding another on Sunday.
AM: Dominik Szoboszlai – The Hungarian has become increasingly vital under Arne Slot. His creative spark and relentless work rate will be crucial in breaking down the Wolves’ defence.
LW: Luis Diaz – With Cody Gakpo doubtful, Diaz is set to reclaim his spot on the left. His pace and direct running could cause problems for the Wolves’ backline.
ST: Darwin Nunez – With Diogo Jota’s minutes being managed carefully, Nunez is expected to lead the line. Although his Anfield scoring record has been modest this season, he remains a potent threat.

Wolves, battling to secure their Premier League status, are no strangers to scoring this season despite their injury concerns. Matheus Cunha remains a creative force, and Liverpool’s backline will need to stay vigilant. Arne Slot’s men must rediscover their rhythm quickly, especially with daunting fixtures looming.
Sunday’s clash at Anfield is pivotal for Liverpool. The Reds must deliver a composed, clinical performance to keep their title ambitions on track. With key players like Salah and Szoboszlai in form, and a determined defence led by Van Dijk and Konate, Liverpool will aim to secure three essential points before their testing fixtures ahead.
