Liverpool star provides positive injury update on Twitter | OneFootball

Alisson Becker is on the sidelines after suffering a calf injury in Liverpool’s first Premier League game of the season against Norwich.

Replying to a Liverpool supporter on Twitter, the Brazilian said that he is “getting better every day.”

The Reds are currently going through something of a goalkeeper injury crisis as backup shot-stopper Adrian has suffered an injury of his own after he picked up a knock during the celebrations in Istanbul.

Following his heroic showing in the penalty shootout, Adrian was essentially slide tackled by a pitch invading supporter and Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that the former West Ham goalie is now a doubt to face Southampton at St. Mary’s.

Andrew Lonergan, recently signed on a short term contract, could make his debut for Liverpool tomorrow if the club’s medical staff decide that Adrian isn’t fit enough to face the Saints.

Even with the newly signed goalkeeper between the sticks, Liverpool should be able to comfortably beat Southampton but Klopp will need to be careful with his team selection after his side played 120 minutes in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday evening.

It won’t be surprising to see Fabinho benched after he pulled up with cramp in the 115th minute.
