Liverpool set to move for Lyon’s Malick Fofana after Federico Chiesa departure | OneFootball

According to a report from Sacha Tavolieri, Liverpool are awaiting to finalise a departure for Federico Chiesa to the Serie A ahead of making a move for Olympique Lyonnais winger Malick Fofana (20). The scouting department of the Premier League champions highly rates the young Belgian winger – who has also been the subject of interest from Chelsea, Nottingham Forest, and fellow Ligue 1 outfit Olympique de Marseille, according to Foot Mercato.Lyon are still expected to make sales during this window, despite succeeding in their appeal to administrative relegation to Ligue 2. New president Michele Kang, who recently replaced John Textor, has planned sweeping austerity measures at the club – who will still feature in the 2025-2026 UEFA Europa League. Lyon already sold Rayan Cherki to Manchester City last month for an initial fee of €36.5m and €6m in add-ons.
