Liverpool say goodbye to Melwood training ground

Liverpool have said goodbye to Melwood after their last day at the historic training ground on Monday.

The Reds will move to a new £50m facility at Kirkby next week.

Melwood has been the club's training ground since the days of legendary manager Bill Shankly.

Liverpool posted photos of manager Jurgen Klopp clearing out his desk at the famous facility.

Goalkeeper coach John Achterberg posted on Twitter: "Last day for me today @LFC great Melwood.

"I worked 10 years with keepers, players staff and managers! What a history is left behind here!

"Now [it's] positive looking at the new place at Kirkby where the club will recreate more legends and history!"
