Mo Salah’s partnership with Sadio Mane was one of the most devastating in Premier League history.

The two were often unstoppable in attack and played integral roles in Liverpool’s Premier League and Champions League triumphs.

But despite combining on many an occasion, the two weren’t always the best of friends.

Indeed, while it shouldn’t matter who scores the goals as long as your team wins, both Mane and Salah were determined for it to be them.

This led to a hilarious clash back in August 2019, which left fellow Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino in hysterics.

What happened between Mane and Salah

While you’d be forgiven for thinking that tensions spilt over after a Liverpool defeat, they actually ended up beating Burnley 3-0 that day.

Klopp’s side opened the scoring via an own goal from Chris Wood, before goals from Mane and Firmino sealed the win.

It could even have been four if Salah had passed to Mane in the dying moments.

The Senegal star found himself in the perfect position inside the box, but Salah was desperate to get on the scoresheet himself and went alone.

Mane was subbed just moments later and it’s fair to say he was furious.

Firmino’s brilliant reaction

The Liverpool media team had placed a camera in the tunnel before kick-off and it captured the players making their way back to the changing room after the game.

Salah and Mane were stood just a few metres apart and the tension was palpable.

But cameras also picked up Firmino, who was clearly enjoying the situation and trying his best to fight back laughter.

The Brazilian even pulled a brilliant face and looked at the camera as if to say 'awkward.'

Fortunately, Salah and Mane settled their minor quarrel as Liverpool went on to win the Premier League that season.

Mane has since left Liverpool, however, and is now vying to win the league in Germany with Bayern Munich.

Meanwhile, Salah remains a vital part of Liverpool’s side but has struggled for form this season in the absence of Mane.

The Egyptian would probably do anything to have his partner in crime back now – he might even pass to him this time around.
