Liverpool reporter Paul Gorst has said that he is sure the Reds are aware of Donyell Malen but suggests it is probably unlikely the club is going to make a move for him this summer.

Malen is a good player and one that could well have a really productive European Championships with the Dutch national team.

Indeed, he is still young but clearly has plenty of potential and Paul Gorst has offered some insight on whether the Reds are genuinely interested in him with recent speculation linking the player with a move to Anfield.

Gorst said via the Liverpool Echo:

“They will be aware of Malen, of course. He scored close to 20 goals for PSV last season, but I am not aware that he is someone they are ready to make a move for. His age and ability are a good fit though.”

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

Malen is a very good player and one that could become even better in the coming years but it looks as though he might not be heading to Liverpool just yet.

It could well be the case he stays with his current club for another year to keep developing or does indeed get a move somewhere, and it’ll be interesting to see how he does next season wherever he ends up.
