Liverpool are weighing up a move for Chelsea forward Callum Hudson-Odoi, according to Calcio Mercato, as cited by The Anfield Buzz’s Twitter account.

The report states that the Reds could attempt to sign the 20-year-old when the 2022 January transfer window opens.

Hudson-Odoi’s contract expires in June 2024. The winger possesses a current market value of €32 million.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

Hudson-Odoi is a promising young player. The 20-year-old winger has scored 13 goals and registered 16 assists in 100 appearances for Chelsea’s first-team.

The aforementioned figures highlight that Hudson-Odoi has the potential to be a solid senior footballer.

Liverpool do have an ageing forward line. The likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino are all aged between 28-30.

The aforementioned players won’t be around forever. Therefore, Hudson-Odoi would be a solid long-term investment for the Reds.

We do hope that Calcio Mercato’s report is true. But, only time will tell if Liverpool are genuinely interested in Hudson-Odoi.
