ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

En-Nesyri has been in sensational form for Sevilla in La Liga this season and, on paper, appears as though he could be a terrific addition to Liverpool’s attack options. Roberto Firmino’s form since the start of the 2019/20 campaign has been patchy at best and this summer could be a good opportunity to freshen up the squad and bring in a new centre-forward to ease the load on Firmino’s shoulders.

Firmino has scored six Premier League goals this season, having managed nine last term, and has not been able to provide consistent end product for the Reds for almost two years now. This means that his position could be an area where Liverpool could look to improve this summer and the interest in En-Nesyri suggests that they are considering it.

The Sevilla forward has scored 22 goals in 23 La Liga and Champions League starts this season, which shows how clinical he has been in front of goal. He has proven that he can score goals consistently at the top level and that could mean that he is able to add more goals to Liverpool’s attacking options. The 23-year-old has scored more league goals (16) this season than Firmino has managed (15) since the start of last season, suggesting that he is performing to a higher standard than the Brazilian.
