Liverpool are keeping an eye on Borussia Dortmund youngster Giovanni Reyna, according to Bild, as cited by Football Inside.

The report states that Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is a fan of midfielder Reyna. As a result, Liverpool have reportedly added Reyna to their transfer shortlist for next summer.

The report also states that Liverpool have seen the impact that United States international Christian Pulisic has had on Chelsea from a marketing point of view.

The report suggests that Liverpool believe that Reyna could have a similar impact on the Merseyside club, as he has represented the United States in junior football.

With that being the case, it would be fair to assume that Reyna will eventually play for the men’s national team.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

Reyna’s current contract expires in the summer of 2021. However, Reyna will reportedly sign a new deal with Borussia Dortmund when he turns 18 on November 13.

If Reyna does sign a new deal with the Bundesliga club, Liverpool will have to fork out a reasonable fee to sign the 17-year-old next summer.

At this current moment. Reyna’s current market value is €15 million. However, his value could easily increase if he has a solid 2020-21 season for Borussia Dortmund.

Reyna has made 20 senior appearances for Borussia Dortmund.

He has made two appearances for Borussia Dortmund this season, which does suggest that he will be given an opportunity to showcase his talent in senior football on a regular basis this campaign.

With that being the case, it would be fair to assume that his value will increase by this time next year. However, it is not hard to see why Liverpool are reportedly interested in Reyna.

The aforementioned numbers highlight Reyna has potential, which means that he would be worth signing.

As Reyna is so young, the club could be signing a player to play in Liverpool’s midfield for a decade.
