Liverpool will not sell Roberto Firmino in the summer

Roberto Firmino is an important member of the Liverpool squad, even irreplaceable. This is set to continue as Liverpool have no intention of letting go of the Brazilian any time soon.

According to reliable journalist James Pearce of the Athletic (h/t Daily Star), the Reds will not replace the Brazilian but instead look to compliment him with attacking signings.

Liverpool have been linked with a move for Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho and Leipzig’s Timo Werner in the summer. In the midst of these links, there was talk of Firmino heading to Bayern Munich as the Bavarians look to reinvigorate an aging squad. (h/t Daily Star)

Pearce’s comments will come as a relief to the Liverpool fans. The Reds faithful have watched Firmino go from a misfit under Brendan Rodgers to a crucial system player under Jurgen Klopp.

The attacking midfielder has reinvented himself as a striker who is unlike any other in world football. The 28-year-old forms the foundation of Klopp’s front three while also tasked with winning the ball up high.

Liverpool have the financial clout now to fund the likes of Sancho and Werner. The former however could cost at least £100m. Liverpool will not pay over the odds and are likely to go for the cheaper alternative in Werner. (h/t Twitter)

There have been rumors that the Reds have already entered negotiations for Werner. However, no concrete news is available yet.(h/t Daily Star)
