Liverpool ready to keep fringe player if transfer offer does not meet valuation

Liverpool will look for £10m before letting Neco Williams leave the club this summer, and are happy enough to keep him around in the squad if such an amount is not forthcoming, according to Echo reporter Paul Gorst.

The Reds are seeing a number of players linked away at the moment and among them is the young right-back, with it understandable given he faces another season stuck behind Trent Alexander-Arnold in the pecking order.

Liverpool are willing to sell for the right price, then, but are not desperate to move him on if the fee is not going to come through.

Gorst explains via the Echo:

“That’s pretty much the top and bottom of it, yes. Liverpool are relaxed over it. If he wants to go and play regularly they will look to sell at around £10m, but they are happy to keep him if no boat is rocked.”

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

Will Liverpool get £10m for Williams? That is hard to say.

He has talent and potential but still needs to prove himself at Premier League level and we’ll have to wait and see just whether anyone is going to be willing to stump up such a fee for him.
