Liverpool ready to commit to €50m deal

Liverpool are reportedly ready to commit to a €50m deal. It's not one they're doing happily, however.

It's been an incredibly busy summer at Liverpool. Trent Alexander-Arnold, Caoimhin Kelleher and Jarell Quansah are all out, having been sold for good fees already.

Then there are the incomings. Florian Wirtz is the headliner, joining for a record amount, while Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez are also new faces at Liverpool.

It's all been quite incredible but the Reds aren't done. There are many more stars with uncertain futures, for one, like Darwin Nunez.

The Uruguayan is fully expected to leave Liverpool this summer - it's just about finding the right buyer. That's someone who's willing to put up the money but can also convince Nunez they're the right club for him.

That, though, is a deal Liverpool are actively hoping for and have been since before the summer started. There's another that they certainly didn't hope to make but now look resigned to.

Ibrahima Konate's contract

Ibrahima Konate is now in the final year of his contract and can start negotiating for a free transfer from January 1st. The clock is ticking.

However, it looks increasingly unlikely that Liverpool will get him to sign a new deal. So much so that AS now reports that they would accept €50m this summer.

Now, given Konate is a good player available for free, Real Madrid are the favourites to sign him. They're not willing to pay Liverpool's asking price, though.

Real Madrid apparently won't even consider that €50m price. Konate, then, is currently heading towards a free transfer.
