Facing difficulties in their pursuit of Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak (25), Liverpool could make a move for one of their long-term targets, Bradley Barcola (22), according to a report from L’Équipe.

Liverpool have already signed Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitiké, Jeremie Frimpong, and Milos Kerkez this summer, however, their spending is not yet finished. The Merseyside club are dogged in their pursuit of Isak, however, for now, Newcastle are holding firm.

That stance may force Liverpool to look elsewhere. Other targets are being considered, including Real Madrid’s Rodrygo (24) and PSG’s Barcola. The latter is a long-term target for Liverpool.

Barcola has seen his game time reduced since the arrivals of Désiré Doué and, more importantly, Khivcha Kvaratskhelia, who plays in the Frenchman’s favoured position. However, Liverpool could now launch a bid to prise him away.

PSG are not keen to sell the winger, whose contract they currently wish to extend. It will therefore take a big bid. L’Équipe hypothesise that Les Parisiens may want to more than double the €50m that they spent on him two years ago.
