Liverpool are preparing for a transformative summer window, with TEAMtalk reporting that multiple positions are under review as Arne Slot shapes his squad. While contract talks continue with Mo Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Virgil van Dijk, the uncertainty around their futures could force significant changes.
TEAMtalk states: “Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen is at the top of Liverpool’s shortlist after the 19-year-old has impressed for the Cherries this season.” Valued at £50m, Huijsen is admired as a future Van Dijk successor, although Chelsea are also keen, which could spark a bidding war. The promising 19-year-old is said to be eager for a move to one of Europe’s elite clubs.

In their search for attacking firepower, Liverpool are monitoring Alexander Isak. According to TEAMtalk: “A new striker is also on Liverpool’s wishlist, and TEAMtalk understands that Alexander Isak is on their radar, but getting him will be very difficult.”
Isak has been in electric form for Newcastle, and TEAMtalk reveals his interest in a potential move to Anfield: “Sources have confirmed that the on-fire Newcastle striker would be open to joining Liverpool if the opportunity arises.” However, his price tag is steep, with Newcastle expected to demand upwards of £120m, possibly rising to £150m. Liverpool will hope Newcastle’s failure to qualify for the Champions League might soften their stance.
TEAMtalk highlights that Liverpool’s plans extend beyond defence and attack, with the club also targeting a defensive midfielder, left-back, and possibly a right-back if Alexander-Arnold departs for Real Madrid.
With Arne Slot entering his first full season in charge, Liverpool are set to back him with significant resources. John W. Henry and FSG are ready to sanction a major spending spree to revitalise the squad.

For Liverpool, this summer signals both excitement and apprehension. Dean Huijsen feels like a sensible addition—a young, talented defender who could grow into the Van Dijk role. However, Liverpool must move quickly, as Chelsea’s interest could complicate negotiations.
The potential arrival of Isak divides opinion. His talent is undeniable, but at £120m or more, many fans question whether this outlay is wise, especially if Salah departs. That said, a proven Premier League striker could elevate Liverpool’s title credentials instantly.
The bigger concern is whether FSG will follow through with the required spending. Under Arne Slot’s vision, fans will demand that the club moves aggressively in the market and does not repeat the pattern of half-measures seen in previous windows. This summer, ambition must be matched with action.
