Cody Gakpo is a doubt to feature for Liverpool when they come up against Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes in the first leg of their Round of 16 tie of the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.

Gakpo missed the final training session ahead of the match, however, he was then included in the travelling squad by Arne Slot. The Liverpool manager said that the Netherlands international had felt a “new pain”, without specifying the nature of the injury, adding that he would make a last-minute decision on his inclusion against PSG.

It therefore looks unlikely that Gakpo will start. A starting trio of Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah therefore looks likely. Joe Gomez and Conor Bradley are the only major absentees for the Merseyside club.
