Having stuttered at the beginning of the new year, Liverpool have rediscovered their confidence following successive victories.

The Reds have not been as ruthless or breathtaking at the start of 2025 as they were during the first half of the campaign, but they have shown impressive character during recent wins over Brentford in the Premier League and Lille in the Champions League. They lead both competitions and are looking to extend their domestic advantage this weekend.

Ipswich Town are Liverpool's next competitors in a repeat of Arne Slot's competitive debut with the club, this time Anfield staging a battle between the struggling Tractor Boys and high-flying Reds. Many will be expecting the league leaders to put their opponents to the sword on Saturday afternoon and you would be brave to bet against them filling their boots against the division's 18th-placed outfit.

Here is how Liverpool could line up against Ipswich at Anfield.

GK: Alisson - Liverpool's sweeper keeper was worked regularly against Brentford last Saturday and a string of saves ensured the Reds were well-placed to mount a late charge at the Gtech Community Stadium.

RB: Trent Alexander-Arnold - Conor Bradley stepped into the starting lineup against Lille midweek but Alexander-Arnold will be restored against Ipswich. Liverpool's No.66 should be able to pull the strings from deep against a leaky defence.

CB: Ibrahima Konate - Konate has struggled to reach his usually lofty standards since returning from injury but the Frenchman will be eyeing a clean sheet against an Ipswich team who are the division's third-lowest scorers.

CB: Virgil van Dijk - The skipper is too important to be rested and he will start again this weekend. Two brick walls will collide when Ipswich forward Liam Delap lines up against the imperious Dutchman at Anfield.

LB: Andy Robertson - There can be no denying that Robertson's levels have dropped significantly this season and he will be tasked with keeping livewire Omari Hutchinson under wraps on Merseyside.

DM: Ryan Gravenberch - Liverpool's surprise defensive midfield dynamo has played relentlessly this season and was withdrawn at half-time against Lille to offer his tired legs a well-deserved rest.

DM: Alexis Mac Allister - The World Cup winner replaced Gravenberch on Tuesday evening and should be refreshed for a battle with Ipswich's robust and combative midfield. Mac Allister's creativity could be key in breaking the visitors down.

RW: Mohamed Salah - Salah scored his 22nd goal of the season against Lille and his third in the Champions League. He was on target in the win over Ipswich on the opening day and will want to extend his tally against a porous backline.

AM: Dominik Szoboszlai - Szoboszlai and Curtis Jones are enjoying a hard-fought battle for the attacking midfield spot in Slot's system, with Harvey Elliott now also knocking on the door. The Hungarian appears to be the preferred option and should start against Ipswich following Jones' injury setback.

LW: Cody Gakpo - Gakpo was an unused substitute against Lille following three games without a goal but the Dutchman will undoubtedly start on the left-hand side at the weekend.

ST: Luis Diaz - Darwin Nunez was the hero against Brentford but featured for the entirety of the European midweek win. Diaz could be moved back into a central attacking role with Diogo Jota injured.
