A trip to Villa Park under the lights is always daunting, but Wednesday night's clash represents a huge opportunity for the Premier League leaders.
Liverpool just about escaped Sunday's bout at home to Wolves with three points, ensuring the gap between themselves and second-place Arsenal opened back up to seven points. They'll enter double digit territory with a win in midweek.
After Sunday's tension, Arne Slot's outfit must rediscover the controlled serenity which has thrust them into such a commanding position. Otherwise, the dynamic at the top could look a whole lot different with fixtures against Manchester City and Newcastle upcoming.
Here's the Liverpool team Slot could pick for Wednesday's meeting with the Villans.

GK: Alisson - If Liverpool are to claim their second Premier League title, Alisson will have to play a major role. The Brazilian came up trumps on Sunday and will likely be required on several occasions at Villa Park.
RB: Trent Alexander-Arnold - Given the space Villa typically surrender in behind their defence, Alexander-Arnold's passing range from deep will be a handy weapon. We could also see the Liverpool right-back match up against compatriot Marcus Rashford.
CB: Ibrahima Konate - Slot wisely substituted Konate against Wolves having just about avoided a second booking. While Jarell Quansah made a crucial intervention in his place, Konate should slot back into the XI.
CB: Virgil van Dijk - While there's a question mark in regards to his partner, there are no doubts as to who'll be lining up on the left side of Liverpool's defence.
LB: Kostas Tsimikas - Andy Robertson has continued to struggle in recent weeks, and Slot could hand him more respite by bringing Tsimikas back in for a rare Premier League start.
CM: Ryan Gravenberch - The Dutchman has been superb this season, but Villa's direct runners from midfield will put his defensive nous to the test.
CM: Alexis Mac Allister - Mac Allister has also treaded a fine line with the officials in recent weeks, while cannily avoiding severe punishment. The Argentine has a huge role to play in all phases on Wednesday night.
RW: Mohamed Salah - Salah scored in the reverse fixture and was at it again from the penalty spot with what would prove to be the decisive goal on Sunday. The Egyptian superstar has found the net in six straight games.
AM: Curtis Jones - There's not going to be major rotation from the Reds boss on Wednesday night, but Dominik Szoboszlai could do with a rest. Slot has Jones available again after he served his one-game suspension at the weekend.
LW: Luis Diaz - After he scored his first goal of 2025 on Sunday, Liverpool need a big outing from Diaz in Cody Gakpo's absence.
ST: Darwin Nunez - Liverpool supporters are bound to be in for another rollercoaster ride if Nunez starts up top on Wednesday. Expect the Uruguayan to have plenty of chances to exploit a potentially weakened Villa defence.
