Liverpool are reportedly preparing a ‘mind-boggling’ offer to sign Morocco and Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat but Tottenham are also interested.

The 26-year-old has grown his reputation in Serie A. He joined Fiorentina from the Belgian side Club Brugge before the 2020/21 campaign.

He has already played over 78 times for Fiorentina across all competitions and his form has attracted interest from clubs around Europe.

Tottenham were mentioned as a potential destination for the midfielder in the months leading up to the summer transfer window.

Fiorentina managed to keep hold of the centre-midfielder, but it looks like he will leave them in January or next summer.

His performances at the World Cup are making a move more likely as he has been shining for Morocco.

Amrabat was key to their victory over Group F rivals Belgium earlier this week. Morocco are now second in their group and a positive result against Canada in their final game will likely see them into the World Cup knockout stages.

The midfielder is due to enter the final year of his contract at Fiorentina next summer but they have the option to keep him for a further season until 2025.

Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport (via Sport Witness) are reporting that ‘particular attention needs to be paid to the Premier League’ when it comes to Amrabat.

In the report, it is noted that Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are both interested in signing him.

They add that Amrabat currently earns €1.8m per year at Fiorentina. In comparison to this, Liverpool would be able to make a ‘mind-boggling’ offer to secure his services.

The lure of Champions League football may also be important in the pursuit of Amrabat. Fiorentina are unlikely to qualify for the competition as they currently sit tenth in Serie A.

But his contract situation makes it so Fiorentina are able to demand a sizable fee for the in-form star.

From Amrabat’s side, there is a ‘willingness to listen primarily to Fiorentina’s project’. But ‘polls from England have already begun’.

Liverpool will be in the market for at least one midfielder next summer with Naby Keita, James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain out of contract and expected to move on.

Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham is said to be their main target but they face competition from the likes of Real Madrid and Man City.

Bellingham has made a positive impact at the World Cup, just like Enzo Fernandez has for Argentina.

There is a €120m release clause in his Benfica contract and he is being linked with Liverpool and Man Utd.

Portuguese outlet Record (via Sport Witness) are claiming that Benfica have ‘defined’ that they are ‘unavailable to negotiate’ the transfer of Fernandez in January.

who will ‘lead’ the pursuit of Fernandez next summer.
