Liverpool No2 Lijnders hails 'outstanding' Minamino: Just like Firmino

Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders has hailed the Carabao Cup form of Takumi Minamino.

Lijnders likened the attacker to senior striker Roberto Firmino.

"Wow - what a desire!" Lijnders said of Minamino after his stunning performance against Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup third round last week.

"He is somebody who turns our game collective as well, the same as what Roberto [Firmino] does.

"His professionalism on the pitch and off the pitch is outstanding.

"His development so far has been really great and he is that player who always gives everything, each day.

"If you are already good, then it becomes really interesting .

"If he can keep that up, we will be really happy with that and long may it continue."
