Mohamed Salah recently became the fastest player to score 100 Premier League goals for Liverpool – and journalist Emmet Gates has described the feat as "ridiculous".

When the Egyptian scored against Brentford earlier this month, he became the fourth player in Reds colours to achieve that feat following in the footsteps of Robbie Fowler, Michael Owen, and Steven Gerrard.

However, Salah has taken just 151 games to reach that milestone, which means he's the fastest for the club in the Premier League era to reach the 100-goal mark.

How did Salah do it?

He scored on his Premier League debut for Liverpool at Watford on the opening day more than four years ago, and in truth, the forward has never looked back.

Salah ended that campaign with 32 goals, which saw him claim the Golden Boot and also break the record for the most goals in a season since the Premier League was reduced to 20 teams, one more than former Red Luis Suarez, who scored 31 times in 2013-2014.

His level of performance has occasionally dipped below par in recent seasons, but his goal return has continued to be the best in the Premier League.

Salah, who's already on course to hit the magic 20-goal mark following a blistering start to the current campaign, has netted at least 19 times in each of the last four years and has already entered the top-30 of the all-time goalscoring charts in the Premier League era.

Emmet has described his achievements as "ridiculous" and "extraordinary".

What did Emmet say?

He told GIVEMESPORT: "Both records are extraordinary, I mean Salah has got to the point where he was the fastest player to reach 100 goals for Liverpool in the Premier League in just 151 games. That's ridiculous."

How does Salah compare to others?

In terms of fastest to reach 100 goals for the same club, Salah is currently fourth on the list and can now be considered as Premier League royalty.

Salah is marginally quicker than Thierry Henry and now behind only Sergio Aguero, Harry Kane, and Alan Shearer, who took 147, 138 and 124 games respectively.

Mind you, Salah is the only player on that list that isn't an out and out striker, which epitomises his ludicrous numbers since returning to England in 2017.
