Mohamed Salah has been named Liverpool’s Player of the Season for the 2021/22 campaign.

The Egyptian netted 31 goals and laid on 15 assists as Liverpool won both the FA Cup and the EFL Cup as well as finishing second in the Premier League and reaching the Champions League final.

Salah also finished the season with the most goals (23) and most assists (13) of any player in the Premier League.

The 29-year-old’s long-term future is currently up in the air with just one year remaining on his contract with the club.

Sadio Mané finds himself in the same situation and has been heavily linked with a move to Bayern Munich, who have reportedly had another bid rejected on Wednesday.

According to the Times, the German champions have had a second offer worth £30m (€35m) turned down.

The report says the offer would have seen Liverpool receive £23.5m up front and another £6.5m in add-ons that would only be paid if Mané won three successive Champions Leagues and Ballons d’Or.

The Times add that those terms were “deemed laughable” by the Anfield hierarchy.

Liverpool are said to want £42.5m (€50m) for the forward.
