Liverpool have announced that Alexis Mac Allister has won the club’s Player of the Month award for March.

It is the first time since his move to Anfield last summer that the Argentine has won the monthly honour, beating out competition from Luis DĂ­az and Mohamed Salah.

In his five starts for the month, Mac Allister contributed three goals and three assists.

“It is a nice feeling and I want to thank the fans for voting for me for this trophy,” he told the club’s website.

“It’s something nice, but at the same time it’s thanks to my teammates because they played an important role.”
