Liverpool are looking at several players at the moment in terms of knocks ahead of the game with Southampton this evening in the Premier League.

The Reds saw Leicester City lose at home to Newcastle United surprisingly and they’ll be hoping for more results like that between now and the end of the season to try and sneak into the top four.

The Reds need to win all their remaining games too, though, and that starts with Southampton this weekend with an evening game at Anfield.

In terms of team news, Liverpool have Nat Phillips back available to come into the defence but a number of players are also carrying slight knocks, as per the club’s official website, and calls will have to be made on them.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

The Reds haven’t had a game for a couple of weeks thanks to the protests at Old Trafford last weekend that cancelled the clash with Manchester United.

Still, then, it’s the Newcastle United game that the Reds played last and hopefully, there will be an avoidance of such a disappointing result this weekend at Anfield as Southampton travel to Merseyside.
