Ryan Kent is eager to return to Ibrox again next season to work under Steven Gerrard, according to the Daily Record.

The 22-year-old enjoyed a superb season for the Gers in the previous campaign, winning the PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year award for his contributions on the field.

He played 43 times for Gerrard’s side last season, scoring six goals along the way and garnering much praise from players and pundits alike.

However, the former Liverpool skipper will have to be patient as Jurgen Klopp wants to observe the midfielder in pre-season before making an final decision.

A number of clubs have been linked with a move for Kent in recent weeks, although Rangers will have been encouraged to hear that Leeds United have reportedly ended their interest in him following their failure to gain promotion back to the top flight.

Liverpool value Kent around £12million but Rangers remain hopeful that a loan deal can be struck before the close of the window.
