Liverpool are said to be considering a cut-price move to sign Wolves winger Adama Traore.

Jurgen Klopp is keen to add attacking depth and reinforcements to his squad before the closure of the transfer window and has been a long-term admirer of Traore’s talents, having described the Spain international as ‘unplayable’ following a clash between Wolves and the Reds in 2020.

According to the Star, Liverpool could make a bid of around £30m for the 25-year-old, despite reportedly having seen approaches of around £60m rejected by Wolves just 18 months ago.

Traore endured a disappointing 2020/21 season and scored just two goals after being plagued by a shoulder issue, whilst the financial impact of the pandemic has further diminished his value in the current market.

Liverpool are in need of forward signings with both Xherdan Shaqiri and Divock Origi expected to leave the club this summer, though it is unlikely that Traore would accept the impact sub role he would likely be signed with the intention of fulfilling.

The Merseyside club face the prospect of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane leaving season for the Africa Cup of Nations during the coming season, heightening their need to bolster their attacking options.

Roma and Tottenham – the latter now now managed by former Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo – have also been credited with an interest in the player who made one appearance for Spain at Euro 2020.
