Liverpool line up move for Brighton defender Ben White

Liverpool are eyeing a move for Brighton defender Ben White after watching him impress while on loan at Leeds United last season.

White was key to Leeds' promotion-winning Championship campaign, starting all 46 games as the Whites secured a return to the Premier League after a 16-year absence, says the Mirror.

He will be part of Brighton's first-team plans next season - unless Liverpool can come up with an offer good enough persuade them to part company with the centre-back.

Jurgen Klopp's side are on the lookout for a central defender after Dejan Lovren left Anfield to join Zenit St Petersburg.

And White could be the perfect signing to provide competition for Joe Gomez and Joel Matip, while also having the potential to be a long-term defensive partner for Virgil van Dijk.
