However, improvements would still be welcome in this key area of the team, and for this purpose, several names are being linked with Barcelona. One of the players who has recently been linked with the Catalan club in reports originating from Italy is the Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder, Georgiy Sudakov.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the player is looking for a change of scenery and is happy being linked with the Catalan club. However, Barcelona are not the only side interested in signing him, as he has also been associated with Liverpool, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City.

The 21-year-old has made 23 appearances up to now this season and has four goals and two assists to his name. In his entire career, he has scored 14 goals and given 14 assists in 90 appearances and is currently considered to be one of the most talented and promising youngsters to originate in Ukraine.

As things stand, the Premier League side Liverpool is leading the race for his signature. Sudakov has a €150 million release clause in his contract, and Shakhtar Donetsk are confident that they can get up to €50 million from his sale.

However, this amount eliminates Barcelona as one of the likely destinations for the midfielder as the Catalans cannot pay such a high amount for him in their currently strained financial conditions.

But this handicap does not stop Barcelona from monitoring the player, as the Catalans are particularly impressed by his vision and dribbling ability. His ability to play both as a left-back and in the midfield also makes him an attractive target for the Blaugranes.
