Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson enjoyed a last laugh on Everton counterpart Jordan Pickford at the end of yesterday's 2-0 derby win.

Pickford was enjoying himself in the first half as Liverpool failed to get past Everton's deep defensive line. The England keeper even had time to let out a cheeky wink after a bit of time-wasting which irked some of the home support.

While the scores remained level, it looked like the Everton number one might not be punished for his actions. However, after goals from Andy Robertson and Divock Origi sent the points the way of Jurgen Klopp's side, Alisson got his revenge.

With the clock ticking towards full time and Liverpool two goals to the good, Alisson claimed a ball in the Liverpool box. He then made a point of making an exaggerated fall to the ground to eat up some extra seconds, just as his opposite number had done in the first half.

Klopp pointed to the visitors' disruption after the game, telling BBC Sport "We expected it [Everton's tactics] but we didn't react well. It's difficult.

"Each ball Jordan Pickford has he takes five minutes so we couldn't gain rhythm which you need to break down a low block," he continued. "We expected them to do it."
