Liverpool are set to rival Premier League leaders Arsenal in the race to sign Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Jesper Lindstrom.

According to Florian Plettenberg, both clubs have contacted Frankfurt over a possible summer move, and the German side are open to discussing a deal.

Lindstrom only joined Die Adler in 2021, but his performances for Oliver Glasner’s side has sparked interest from the English giants.

The Denmark international has featured bagged 14 goals and 13 assists in 70 appearances for Frankfurt and was part of the squad that won the Europa League last season.

Having racked up sufficient top-flight experience at Deutsche Bank Park, a new challenge could be on the horizon for the impressive 23-year-old amid reports Brentford are also interested in securing his services.

Frankfurt are looking to make a substantial profit on Lindstrom’s potential departure and are demanding at least €30 million for a player that cost them a meagre €7m nearly two years ago.

With at least three clubs set to slug it out for the former Brondby prodigy, the Germans are hopeful incoming offers will surpass their expectations.

While primarily an attacking midfielder, Lindstrom’s versatility adds to why the youngster is so highly rated, as he can also feature on either flank.

Both Liverpool and Arsenal need midfield reinforcements, and the prospect of donning the colours of some of England’s biggest clubs will appeal to the player.

However, Brentford are not completely out of the race, and their strong Danish contingent could convince Lindstrom to move to the Gtech Community Stadium.

Frankfurt already look to have snapped up Lindstrom’s replacement, with VfL Wolfsburg’s Omar Marmoush expected to join on a free transfer.

However, the club will do well to survive a massive summer raid, with head coach Oliver Glasnermidfielder Daichi Kamada and star striker Randal Kolo Muani also attracting interest.
