The future of Luis Diaz remains very much undecided. Although the Liverpool winger flew out with the rest of the squad for the Asian pre-season tour, it remains to be seen whether he will be a Red come the end of the transfer window.
Diaz, 28, is out of contract in 2027 and the signs are not promising for a renewal.
The Colombian would like a deal which matches his expectations - said to be around £140k to £150k per week - but sporting director Richard Hughes has so far not ceded to those demands.
With time ticking down on his deal, the Anfield side are said to be considering a sale for Diaz as long as his €100m valuation is met.
Bayern Munich are perhaps closest to doing a deal for Diaz but we must also bear in mind Al-Nassr as Cristiano Ronaldo is reported to want a link-up with the former Porto star.
If Diaz leaves then Liverpool have a decision to make.
Do they go into the season with Cody Gakpo and perhaps Florian Wirtz as their senior options for the left wing?
Will Rio Ngumoha see his minutes stepped up after impressing in pre-season?
Or will the club decision-makers see fit to add a high-quality replacement in the summer transfer window?
According to a new report in Caught Offside, Liverpool are considering the signing of Malick Fofana - the 20-year-old Lyon winger who has enjoyed a breakout season.
The Belgian international is valued at €50m to €60m and his sale could go a long way towards solving Lyon’s ongoing financial problems.
The report claims that Liverpool have held discussions with the representatives of the left-wing starlet - who scored five goals and added four assists in 16 Ligue 1 starts last season.
But the Premier League champions will have to contend with a clutch of competing teams for Fofana’s signature.
