The 2022-23 season was a major disappointment for Liverpool as they failed to perform well in the Premier League and Europe.

Jurgen Klopp’s side improved as the season progressed, particularly in April and May when they went on a seven-game winning streak.

However, it was too late by then and the Reds ultimately had to settle for a fifth-placed finish.

The Merseyside giants also endured massive disappointment in the Champions League, with Real Madrid inflicting a humiliating 6-2 aggregate defeat in the last-16 to dump them out of the tournament.

They also failed in the Carabao Cup and FA Cup, exiting the two domestic competitions in the fourth round.

Jurgen Klopp will now be aiming to make a big comeback next term by strengthening his squad in the current Premier League transfer window.

They have already made two shrewd signings in Alex Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai but are expected to bring in more reinforcements before the transfer deadline.
